climatronic codes=display speed/rpm...on the clima-display
you can see various data on the display of your climatronic display. This is how it works:
1.start engine
2.push and hold the auto button (for models after the facelift in '99 the recirculation button left under the dislay)
3.push button with the arrow up (upper right button) and let go
4.relause the auto (or recirculation) button
5.with the temparature up down buttons, you can choose the codes, and after you've choosen the right code, push the auto button.
For choosing another code you have to shut down the engine, and start again, and if you want to go back to the normal display function push the auto button.
here are the codes:
4.outside temperature at the water box.
5.outside temperature at the fromt bumper
17. actual speed !!!!
18. voltage of the airco system
20.voltage of the battery
27.rpm
51.enigine temperature
62.sunlight intensity in W/m-1
hope you enjoy this as much as i do, especialy the speed wich is very accurate.<p>ncuucepsmt

That's very cool! There are 87 codes total on the '01 Avant. Is there a master list. Some of the
codes in the larger numbers have degrees Celsius indications do you know what thos are for?
The outside temp codes didn't jibe with my trip computer's outside temp display, by the way.
Also, the actual speed reads out in kilometers. Do you know which code might be for MPH?
This was a very cool tip Marcel. Thanks for posting it. How did you happen to find this stuff out?

That's an old list. Doesn't include all 87 codes.

just tried this...I like it! I did find one error in the FAQ though (more)
the FAQ states that function 28 is the engine speed (in RPMs). On mine it is actually 27. Not sure if it's just my car or maybe my ECU software version or something.
