Default Re: Our SSR Comp GB now includes this new wheel:

Great wheels, IF you don't mind light wheels that bend easily.

Both Peter Cunningham and Will Turner had to buy boatloads of these wheels to make it through 1 season of racing. Even w/o hard contact, they bend.

I know people that have bent SSR comps, and they don't even know what they hit to cause the bend.

Default I got a set of door stops. They'll hold up any door, guaranteed.

This sucks. :-(

You know anyone at SSR that can help? Tire Rack is of no use.

Default I'd buy those doorstops off you, if you ever want to get them out of your sight :)

Default Bent SSR Comps

Turner and Cunningham had to pay for all their wheels, and I know in Turner's case that the distributor didn't help them out when it came time for replacements.

Default My theory on why SSRs bend like putty...

Not enough metal to take the heat. Heat builds up, they become malleable, and then bend at the slightest provocation, particularly on heavy cars. Just a theory.

I've bent 5 or 6 SSR Comps in the past couple of years. TireRack refuses to acknowledge the problem and continues to recommend these for heavy cars and for track use. There's the basis for a lawsuit in there somewhere if anyone cared to pursue it.
