Default A4/S4 Bolt-in roll bar/roll cage. Has anyone found a 'bolt-in' . . . .

roll cage vendor for the 1996-2001 A4? Is there any experience with 'bolt-in' competition rollbars for dual use (street/track)? I understand the rear seats will become useless, but what effect do SPECIFIC bars/cages have on front seat travel?

Vendor names/contact info, prices and fit (on a car with full interior), would be appreciated.

I am located in California/Nevada area, should that matter.

Default Have one custom made, like my roll-bar.

Pics are a bit outdated (pads and everything now) but you'll get the idea.

Depends on what you want to do with your car. If you go cage, remove the back seats and everything

let me know if you have any questions,

regards,
Liam

Default Woah, hello. Good median solution.

Can you tell me how much it cost, and whether it is possible to remove the cage (as in effort/time/difficulty) after each track event, especially if the track event is 2 months apart?

Is it in sections so you have to basically "assemble" it or do you have to take the front seats out?

TIA!

BTW, where did you get this manufactured?

Default I have a safety devices rollcage that is being put in my car...

This is a full bolt in cage. However, I am just using the rear portion. I will post pics when I get it done (waiting for some fitting brackets to arrive from the UK).

Default GTA auto, here in Montreal.

They race-prep porsches for a living (a couple of PCA winners at watkins glen on their resume). $400 your money all said and done (with the matching paint too).

It is 3 pieces: the rollbar, and the two bars that go to the rear. It's bolted on, and is *very* tight.

I've never removed it yet (even drove down to florida with it) so I can't answer your "remove after track event" question. I'm guessing that it would be tough at first, but once you get the hang of it it would be possible (Kinda like swapping seats after a race..would you do it?). Also, I think you can remove it without removing the front seats.

Here's the problem: I've tried convincing them that they should pre-fabricate the bars, but they don't want to (they're perfectionnists). So you'd basically have to take a little vacation up here in montreal and drop the car off.

E-mail me if you're really interested, I'll put you in touch with them.

regards,
Liam

Default How much was it? The street or the comp?

Does it use the rear seatbelt anchors or the rear shock towers as anchor points?

Did you purchase it directly from them, and did you have to 'gut' any part of your interior?

Thanks for taking the time to answer this!!

:-)

Default Thanks, Liam....

Seeing your post when you originally made it is what got me thinking about a bar or a cage. Yours looks like a VERY nice setup.
