Default This Sunday Calder Track Day.

Maserati Club is holding another track day a Calder Race Park in Melbourne Australia.
Some Audi Club members will be there having a go at getting some decent Lap times.
The Day is officially called "Ferrari Day" but is open to all members.
The Last one I went to had a great time, put down a repectable lap time.
It is also forcast to rain in the afternoon, that will be great, finally i will see how the A4 quattro handles", may be even getter better times than some of the High powered 2WD cars.
At the Last event all I can say there were millions of $$$ worh of cars there, you name it it was there. (Except any BMW's which was very strange).
I wish Mr //M3 could get over here love to line you up.
P.S.
Last event had no brake problems with stock brakes as generally i don't like using brakes whilst racing.

Default Another Great Day.

Well it turned out to be another great track day at Calder Racway.
Since It was originally organized by the Ferrari club, the predominat cars that attanded where Ferraris.
A Porsche 911 RS Turbo's, 3 A4's, about 15 Ferraris, Nissan GTO, Mazda Miata,
2 Subaru WRX's, Old 68 Ford 289GT, MG V8, Lotus, Maserati and strange no Bimmers again.
Well I will Post some lap times later in the week when i receive the results in the mail. There may be a few surprises in the results, I managed to overtake a couple Ferrari's even with the crap stock tires I am running.
I had my car side ways and all sorts of ways, but I kept the Pedal to the metal and let the quattro do its stuff.
The ferrari's kept a nice line through the bends, but where they lacked in the turn i made up with Full Power applied and let the 4WD do its stuff. With the crap stock Goodyear tires I should have won the award for the noisiest tires.
I had a few people come up to me and say that If i had some decent tires on that I would have put down some hot lap times, and that came from 2 Ferrari owners (one a F355) and the main sponser of the Audi Race team in Australia (Warwick Fabrics).
I do not know about some you you guys, But a A4 Quattro with good suspension, Tires and a K-04 is a respectable track car that you won't be embarsed in.
As a comparison i got a 1m15sec lap time, A 1.8non-turbo, FWD, chipped, remus got 1m 24sec.
I hope I can get a hold of some photo's from someone. Happy racing.
