Default oct 11 stockton auto-x

For all of you who didn't show up (I guess this applies to *ahem* ALL of you), this one was fun too. I went in the GS class cuz I wanted to get pictures of my sis running in ASR, so instead of getting my butt kicked, I got slaughtered, but oh well. The course was shorter and less twisty than the previous week in Oakland...the best time went to that crazy Lotus Europa, which turned in a 33 something.

I was the only A4, 3 or 4 M3s, the old Jag, the standard Rx-7s, many Corvettes, etc etc. Many folks who were at last weeks were there again.

I'm happy to report that Karen brought her M3 and had a blast...she was pretty nervous before her first lap, but after she finished it, she was smiling again. On her best lap, she beat me (dammit ). If the pics are any good, I'll post a few when my scanner comes in.

We brought food this time so we weren't as miserable.

Next week is in Sacramento, just a little far. Hope to see everyone on the 31st.

Siiigggghhhh...I'd love to. But 250 clams is a lot of clams, especially when I have an old Lincoln begging for parts. What's the deadline for signing up and all that?

Default Probably in late December

Alot of people share rooms so the cost can stay way low on hotel and food.

Consider it...I think we will have about 15-20 A4s at that even....easy.

P.S. You let your sister beat you in Stockton?...that was nice of you.

Dumb question...I went to Thunderhill's page and couldn't find stuff on the event. Where do I sign up? I'll check my latest Quattro quarterly tonight...it does sound like a lot of fun.

Warren

Yeah...I let her beat me. But stay tuned for round two...CAGE MATCH!

Default Call up Thunderhill & request an application form from them. That's how it starts.

On the Thunderhill wep site, there's all sort of info., including the track schedule, but no real details describing each scheduled event.
Maybe I'll try scanning the article about last January's event from the Quattro Club Quarterly and post it. Sounded like a great event.

Default Heeeeey!!! Whattya mean, "let me"??

I lost a lot of brain cells pulling out that 3rd run! That was a hard earned victory, I'll have you know! 8^)

No, seriously. It was luck. And the car. Had nothing to do with driving skill, since I had very little idea what I was doing......just kinda thinking "squeeze the throttle, turn the steering wheel, hang on, and HAVE FUN!!!!!"

I also managed to be the first person of the day to DNF on that course (though, thank god, not the last....). A dubious honor at best, earned with my DEMOLISHING the first of four cones in the course's only slalom, recovering on the wrong side of cone #2, and finishing the slalom on the wrong side of each cone. An excellent display of utter confusion.

Looking forward to Halloween, and to embarassing the family right here in the Bay Area.....
