19's might look better cosmetically, but I like 18" better personally as it gives the wheel more sidewall protection from bending as well as giving a bit better ride. Regarding color...thats a tough choice.

Thanks for the input Gary. I was a bit weary about the 19's for that reason but im still deciding... I might actually go with rs4 reps now...

I was considering the same two wheels for my 2001.5 S4 (stage 2 on its way to stage 3+). I have pretty much decided on the 18" Ultraleggeras for the following reasons:
1) OZ ULs are about 6-7 lbs. lighter per wheel (Things I've been told: {Feel free Gary to correct or further explain.} Rotational forces multiply the weight by some factor like 3-8 times...Lighter wheels will make it seem like a 30 HP increase. Steering response will be much better...) 2) Less common than the B7 RS4 reps. (I don't know if that is true.) 3) More space between the spokes to show off the Big brakes that you spent so much on. (Gary, I also had someone recommend the Enkei RPM2s as a good light weight wheel, but I noticed that you don't carry them. Why not?) Reasons that I am shying away from the RPM2's": More common and kind of flat looking on the face. But they do come in hyperblack. I don't think that the OZ ULs come in Hyper black or gun metal, just silver or black. |
