Default What size Dunlop M3 tires for A6 2.7T 17x8 rims? Please help.

Still trying to decide on winter tires. Dunlop M3 look good but they do not have my exact size 235/45 17. Can I substitute a different size?

I was going to say 215/50 but that will most likely be too narrow for an 8" rim.

You could also get by with 225/45 if you're willing to live with a small speedo/odo error.

Personally, if it was my car, I'd just find another tire that does exist in size 235/45. Nokian WR comes to mind here.

Default How do you think the two tires compare handling on dry vs winter snow & ice?

Default AFAIK, they're pretty close.

Get the V-rated version if you want improved dry weather handling.

Default The M2 comes in that size: I was running that last year and was happy.

Mind you, if you're very serious about snow traction, you probably would want to stay away from low profile like 45.

Default How about 225/45 17 M3's on my OEM Audi rims for Winter?

Narrower should be better in the snow, will I be able to tell the difference on dry or wet pavement in Denver in the winter?

Default Dunlop's site shows 235/45/17 as one of the available sizes of M3...

so I'm sure TR will carry it. You're just too early - winter season hasn't started yet. Tire manufacturers haven't started shipping the winter inventory. I'm guessing you'll see it come October.
