Default i have 2 bent rims and need new tires. can i install new tires without fixing the bent rims? thx!

would you recommend this? what are some of the pitfalls? i.e. uneven wear, vibration, etc...

Depends on the damage to the wheel. If it's a small bend only on the lip, you should be ok. If it's more, you could be in trouble. When I mount wheels, usually I'll get tipped of by the fact that the wheel will not balance, or will require way too much weight. Make sure wherever you go does a dynamic balance as some bent wheels that will not balance dynamically will balance statically. If it won't balance, get it fixed.

Default Ditto what birdsong said. Leaking/bad seal may occur, too.
