Default Tire weights? (not wheel weights)

Saw mentioned on a wheel weight website that the Bridgestone S-03's are relatively heavy compared to other tires like Toyo T1S's. Any websites/etc with tire weight info? Just curious as to how how much of a variance there is. Shaving off ~10lbs/wheel with nice wheels then adding back 15-lbs/tire with a heavy tire seems a bit counterproductive (although need to weigh in grippiness/etc of heavier tire)

Default Re: Tire weights?

Tire weight info is taken directly from the mfr spec data, so checking the respective mfrs website will be the source.

Tire 'weight' is typically going to be about the same since tires are all constructed in a fairly similar manner, so there is not usually a significant savings in a given tire size.

Remember too that the mfrs supply their own #s, so those can (and do) vary from time to time.

A look in the archives for you will give you some more threads (1600 actually!)
