Default Suggestions needed: Overwhelmed by choices!

I've worn out the outer edge of my 99.5 A4 Avant/manual/sport Dunlop 8000E's, and am going to start a new job on Monday so I'm looking to replace them.

After browsing through miles of postings on the Wheels & Tires forum, I'm no closer to making a choice than when I started! So tell you what, I'll mention what I need, and if you feel like making suggestions, I'd be glad to entertain them!

I like the shape of the 16" sport-package wheels, but would definitely consider upgrading to 18" wheels for looks and other benefits.

I live in the NorCal Bay Area, so that means my driving is 90% dry, good roads, 9% wet and 1% at Lake Tahoe. I'm satisfied with the Dunlop's ride and handling, though I'd love less road-noise.

If I get new wheels, that'd be fun, but they do need to be conservative-looking (no boy racer wheels for me) because 1] it's an Avant, and 2] I occasionally use the car to impress management. Finally, durability is very important to me, I hate dealing with bent/cracked rims.

What do you think?

Default Pick a wheel you like and look into Yok AVS db, tirerack sells them

As far as wheels go you could get anything you like money is the only limitation. Some of the Mille wheels are nice looking and fairly cheap, could buy used S4 wheels if you like those looks or 18" Volks if you have $450 a wheel to spend. The Yokohama AVS db is a great all around tire, very quite and performs well in both wet and dry.

Good Luck.

Default you just want it to be rare to see the Lolas, I think they are super nice well, very understated

yet agressive at the same time...at 17" they are only 21 lbs, and like 210 a piece...thats good value...

and lowered to coilover height too... if you do 18's... you will need to lower the vechile to get the look and ride you are seeking.
