I have only seen 245s on a MTM carwith MTM wheels over a year ago - no one else is running them on S4s or A4 that I have ever seen posted on this forum.

I've stated this quite often--so here goes.
The maximum width tire I would recommend for a 17x7.5 Rim is 225. Yes, you can go wider, but your handling will deminish. The contact patch will become real "squirrely" if you go wider. If you have an S4 or A4 you are limited by the width of the wheel, the offset of the wheel, and the width of the tire--in fitment. On a 7.5"-17" rim I wouldn't go any wider than 225. If you want to go wider, get a 17x8 or 8.5" width wheel and run 235's on it. Besides, either way, a 225 width tire will perform much better on an 8" rim vs. a 7.5" rim--especially in performance driving. |

Iam running 235/45x17 Pirelli 7000 Supersports on these wheels. The car is a 95.5 S6. Gary, this was your recomendation. I also run this car on the track. Audi has an optional wheel and tire set. It is a 245/40x17 on a 17x8 wheel. Iam trying to get a light 17x8 wheel that will fit over my brake kit. The brake kit consists of: AP Racing 243mm rotors on aluminum hats with their 6 piston calipers. This currently fits under the SL wheel. Any suggestions?
