Default Still looking for OEM 16" 5-spokes-new or take-offs.

Well, tomorrow night I pick up my A4 1.8Tqms and I still don't have a set of OEM 16" 5-spokes to mount snows on for winter use. Anybody selling their new ones or know where I can locate some take-offs? If worse came to worse, I'd put used ones on my new 99', as long as they are in perfect condition and don't have many miles on them. Thanks. =)

You may not be aware that your 1.8 wheels have a offset of positive 35 while the 16" wheels have a offset of positive 45 and therefore will not fit or drive as the OEM wheels. Try Tirerack or Discount Tire who offered A4 replicas with the +35 offset.

My experience was in negative steering & handling changes, as well as different centering and resultant wondering, particulary on roads that were less than freeway status. Most of the after market houses are silent on the offset problem unless asked and then, as often as not, say it won't make any different. If you speak with Audi they can describe what is happening in more technical terms.

Default Re: Jan, What you said is wrong!

ET35 is for 15-6J, ET45 for 16-7J and is 5spokes OEM Audi specified. Use 205/55-16 with OEM spec 16-7J ET45 Hub dia 57mm for 100% fit!!. Most 7J clones have ET35 so bulge out!! Centering affected!!.

Don't change if yours is original OEM 5 spokes found in Brochures. ET45 with "rings" insider, they are correct.

Default I have(tomorrow!) a 99' 1.8T w/sport package OEM 16" 7-spokes and...

would like to run the OEM 16" 5-spokes w/205/55 16" H-rated snow tires for winter use. I don't see any problem in this, especially considering the 1997 1.8T's came w/the OEM 16" 5-spokes.

JT 99' 1.8Tqms(tomorrow!)
