Default Rolling radius

What I really need is an explanation of the tire sizeing 205/55 etc. But I will make do with assurance that the rolling radius on the 15 and 16 inch wheel tire winter combos is the same as the rolling radius of my 16 inch OEM sport package wheels and tires. Thanks.

Default Re: Rolling radius

Yes, they are the same rolling radius. You can calculate the diameter by multiplying the tire width by the aspect ratio, dividing by 25.4, multiplying by 2 and adding the wheel diameter.

For example: for a 195-65-15 tire:
195 * .65 = 126.75 mm

126.75 mm / 25.4 mm/in = 4.99 in

4.99 in * 2 (top and bottom of tire) = 9.98 in

9.98 in + 15 in (wheel size) = 24.98 in.

205/55/16 = 24.87 in
225/50/16 = 24.86 in

and so on...

Adventures in calculator land!
