Default almost new owner Q7 3.0 TDI 2008

hi there everyone, im considering to buy a Q7 3.0 TDI 2008 in a few days, been trying to check all the possible issues that this amazing SUV can have so i will be aware of that before i buy or what to check on a used Q7.

Im comming from volvo cars for years, we actually have a S80 4.4 AWD and XC90 2.5T without any issues. Right im interested in the TDI version of the Audi, which seems to be the best option for me. The diesel prices here are cheap, much lower than 89 oct gas so maybe this info can help you guys to tell me what to expect. The XC90 2.5T is about 17 mpg (80lts tank) city driving which is almost all the time because my wife use it all day, from what i see in different websites the Q7 TDI makes better mpg in city driving and huge savings on highways. I know all this depends on the driver habits, but lets say we drive the cars normaly, not sporty way. So as you can see, mpg info is important for me.

The sencond issue that i see on the forums is the Tires and brakes changes, much more often than other vehicules.

Last question is what is the normally parts that need to be changed on this SUV.

Best Regards,

BTW the Q7 has about 40,000miles and 2008. White exterior with tan interior, looks really great.

Welcome to the club. Ive had really good luck with my Q7, the only real expensive fixes have been the MMI board. Other then that nothing out of the ordinary. About the tire/break issue, Ive run 3 sets of tires and have just over 80k miles. I dont think thats too far out of line for a large vehicle. One brake job, again not bad. If you can do any of your own work, like brake pads, you will save some $$$.

GL and enjoy your new ride.

Thanks a lot!, the good side for me is that the labor on must of the parts it will be really cheap because my brother has a Audi/euro shop and he carry oem parts for this cars with prices under dealer discount.

My XC90 has about 100k and im on the 2 tire so i guess the Q7 is fine, i guess is just having the correct psi on it and not to agressive driving.

'08 3.0 TDI owner here.

Currently 186,000 km and nothing major to report. Advice? Keep it serviced - I use Long Life - and dont thrash the engine.... :-)

I'd go for it is I were you - it's a great machine, and very rare over here in Portugal due to the huge cost purchase price (35% purchase tax ON TOP of VAT = 110k+ new) and epic road taxes (812 € this year).

<3 my fat ol' Q7.
