I'd try an MMI reset/reboot for the heck of it but I'm with snagitseven, guessing you're in for a return trip to the dealer to have them redo the update.

Thank you for your fast responses.

When the Fader/Balance is in the middle it works perfectly. I can't go to the dealer before a month, and the bose wasn't factory ordered. I retrofitted the entire Bose sound system in my car. The technician offered to look into the TSBs for this fault. I hope there is one!

Has anyone encountered this problem when the amplifier SVM got updated to 160 ? my previous version was 130.

The Audi technician specialist said a downgrade is not possible. I don't want him to blame it on my install, i know my installation is perfect because i haven't any issue until the upgrade. He also said that it was written in the TSB that this fault may be encountered after i described him the problem.

I hope someone knows this issue, so i can tell the technician directly what to look into.

To kdagher,

I recently had my MMI updated to 715_2 and the exact thing happened to me, the balance/fade was way off. Took it back to the dealer and it was fixed in about 20 minutes.

Can you please check with your dealer what did they do ? Usually its written on the service paper if they performed a TSB ? The technician is blaming it on me now.. I really don't want to pay for another amplifier and i know mine is perfect.

Thank you

This happened to me (not with 715-2 but with an earlier update). The dealer had to recode the Bose Amp and it was fixed- after the dealer also denying there was an issue. You can search previous threads going from update 0566 to the next one (numbers escape my memory at this time). I had a post on it with the solution.

I brought my car back to the dealership, i hope they are going to fix it. The sound system is coded well. My main issue is that i retrofitted the Bose sound system, it didn't come equipped with the car, but it was working without a single error before the update.

They are hoping by re updating the MMI it will fix the error that's triggering the Fader/Balance mix:

03389 [47] Sound System "DATASET IMPLAUSIBLE"

The technician is doubting that it has to do with the SVM because it got updated to 160. I am trying to convince him that the file might be corrupt and it needs to be re-updated. Apparently there is no Basic Setting for Sound Amplifier.

I stopped by the dealership today and spoke with the tech who performed the 715_2 update to my car. I have a 2012 A6 C7 Prestige. He told me that the 715_2 update is the same across the board but they have to go online to tweek it according to the options you have..ie, the non Bose versus Bose versus the B.O whichever you may have. So let the dealership know that they have to calibrate it afterwards or it will be off.

Thank you, let's hope that it is possible in my case (Bose system retrofitted).. Tomorrow he is going to try and fix it, he didn't have time to do it today.

The dealer wasn't able to fix my issue, and they do not want to call AoA because they will void the warranty of the MMI whole system, since the Bose system was retrofitted, and they have never encountered this issue previously, despite showing him multiple posts from others in this forum regarding this issue

They are still looking what to do, the technician told me there is no such thing to select Bose, standard or B&O. There is no calibration for the Bose, they are preset from the factory and cannot be altered according to them..

Any chance you ask your dealership again? Because in 20 min they can't re-update the whole system, apparently it takes about 1.5 hours. I am sure the technician did something different in 20min in order to fix it without even opening a service line. Can you ask him if he can tell you the exact trick ?

Is there a quick way to check which version of the MMI I have?
