I did the PDC graphics upgrade...
I have an 04 A8 and wanted to ad the graphic display that appears on the MMI screen on 06 and newer A8s. I replaced my PDC control module with a later version...easy to do (two nuts and 3 plugs), its attached to the fender well just forward of the Nav DVD/infotainment rack inside the port side access pannel in the trunk.
No VAG COM was needed, the graphic function is recognized by the car upon installation of the module.

here's what the display look like...
Anytime that the PDC is active this display appears on the MMI screen. And if the screen is closed, it opens while the PDC is active and then closes again. Each sensor has a corresponding section on the display and shows a red bar (see photo) when the sensor detects an object and beeps. As the object gets closer the red bar gets closer to the car icon in the dispay. I wish they had oriented the car icon on the axis of the car for ease of recognition of the detected objects relative location; but its better than not !
The nice part about this is that instead of just knowing there is something ahead or something behind the display shows where the relative location of the object. And in certain circumstanses that is very useful info.

Yes I looked into this quite a bit. One dealer ( the Audi USA parts one) asked a mechanic and said it required more than just replacing the parking module. Couldn't find an exact model that was required and or needed. Like the others said please post how much it was and where you purchased it from. Would also help to show what revision you upgraded from.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I found my next mod!!
I haven't seen this before. I absolutely love the rear view camera, but a proper install of that is just a bit more than I want to spend at this time. This would be a likely (more like slam dunk) replacement for that project, given requested information (i.e. Part number).
Thanks for posting awdinut.
