Default Purchased a vag-com!

Well guys. Found a cheaper USB hex can cable in my local Detroit metro area from a guy who just sold his A8. Got the cable for $250. Just wanted to report that with the newest vag-com vcds software; it works flawlessly with windows 7 x64 bit now. No longer need the use of a 32 bit machine or even using windows xp mode. Looking forward to getting my key fob window mod working. (me and Mr. Bally tried but couldn't get it working.

Congrats, that is a good deal.

VCDS has always been ahead of the curve.
Wish Bentley Publishers would take a page from Uwe's book....

Congratulations to brozee. Its good to have young guys in the team. Although they tend to make a few mistakes they still have energy to keep on and make a progress for everybody.

Bentley wise, it is good I have ELSA to patch it here and there.

That was my next venture. Getting a Bentley manual but I wish someone had a PDF version try could upload. I don't want to spend that much and have it not work properly on a x64. Or even pay that much for a non physical version.

Has anyone had any experience changing the convenience turn signals. I.e. how many times the turn signal blinks from just flicking the turn signal paddle. Default is 3, I'd like to change It to 4. This is for highway lane changes.

Only other mod I needed help with was the coding for convenience windows. Me and Bally tried the coding but it wouldn't work. Any tricks or workaround? I'll post my default value as well as the value we tried changing it to as well.
Thanks

Default Convenience open/close...have you just followed

the VAG COM Wiki settings? See: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index..._System#Coding

See Channel 61

Long since forgotten my setting, but in each case I coded my C5 A6 (12 years old now) and my D3 to allow the convenience open close w/ both the key and the remote. Just added up the bits per the settings table and plugged it in.

The starting page for all the stuff--seat belt chimes, instrument needle/background lighting (by day) and the various other mods are there: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Audi_A8/S8_(4E)

I haven't head about ability to change desired lane change signal count.

I know we coded it correctly as I verified the setting earlier on my vehicle. Thinking back to when I originally did mine years ago, I recall a secondary "save" or "execute" function that Brozee and I did not do. He will figure it out I'm sure or we will meet up again and try it together.

For me remote windows also did not work. I thought maybe because my rear window regulator was not working. Btw you got the cable from me

Dang I'm good.
Went out and figured it out.
Leaving it at the 1023 for adaptation for channel 61 comfort functions enables all of them.

On top of that you must also (or I had to) add "64" to the coding as well. So mine went from 0065086 to 0065150.

So after this all four windows rolled up and down with the key fob, but no sunroof.... So I went into the adaptation once again under module 46, but this time instead of going to comfort functions in the drop down, I went to Key 1, and low and behold there were my settings. I had everything enabled except for the sunroof. Added to the original code to enable the sunroof and it worked perfectly. I changed the settings to be the same for key 1, 2, 3, and 4. Just to make sure.

So now I have it configured to my preference of open only the front two windows as well as the sunroof.

Hope it helps you guys who couldn't get it working.

Does this mean no more A8 pictures by the Michigan Central train depot? In case you did not see them, mine are here: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...2825236&page=5

I understand we may soon get a third set of A8 photos from that spot
