Default Adaptive air suspension problem!

I noticed that my audi a8 adaptive suspension is now stucked in the lift mode (as the little light on the dash board indicates).
On MMI screen it does not let me to change it to dynamic, also while driving above 80 miles it did not drop the car down.
What can be the problem?
Thank you,
A.

Shut car off, get out, lock doors. Wait one minute. If it continues, run diagnostic scan for fault info or take it to a shop that can run a diagnostic scan with VW/Audi diagnostic software. Note that free scans at Pep Boys/ Advance Auto Parts etc. will not work on subsystems such as air suspension on A8's.

It is in limp mode. Could be for various reasons. Ross-Tech VCDS scan (or dealer's VAS) will tell what's wrong. If you don't have VCDS you should buy it. For $350 you get a great tool that will pay itself on a first use. Here you can get all help you need with it. There is also good support from Ross-Tech.

Thank you for your reply,
I have been playing with the thoughts of buying the Ross-Tech software. It is just too much money. Does it really pay itself off?
I did buy a simple OBD2 software fron Scan tools for $50 though, but have not tried it yet.
Do you know, if the VAG-COM could also identify if there is any thing wrong with my seat Ventilattion, since ever since I bought the car it did not work and I do not know why. I do not want to take the car to dealer for this. I just do not like dealers!!
Thank you,
A.

you really can't own this car w/o vag-com. An OBD scanner will be of minimal help and useless for the two issues you mentioned. It's like owning a Valentine One, it only needs to go off twice and it's paid for itself.

The other issue is getting help here. The first thing people are going to ask you are "what codes do you have"?

Bob

Short answer No.

It can be a bit daunting at first with all the options, especially knowing you can "brick" the vehicle.

After a few uses it becomes second nature.

As others said/will say, it does pay for itself and there is no substitute for the genuine article.

Nice License plate!
It is from Ingolstadt, Germany, where the AUDI factory is!

Thank you,
Thanks.
It was the first thing I did to the vehicle - ordered it from Germany for about $30.

If you see it around town you know it's me...
I know from the other forum we're both in the same city.
