'98 quattro differential

I have a '98 A6 quattro wagon. The rear differential has 2 drain plugs. Is the forward one the "center diff."? There is no fill plug for it. I am wondering if the two are filled seperately or share gear oil? And what (is)are the capacitie(s)?

they both fill from one hole, there is a divider inside only so tall, so to get it all out, gotta use both, but to put it in, just one.
