Default rear bumper cover removal

Has anyone done it? I'm stuck at the "rear bumper cover mounting strip". There's some sort of cam gear that you have to turn but I can't get the orientation in the Bentley right to figure out where that is...

OMG, this car is so much harder to work on than the D2. Plus the Bentley doesn't seem to be nearly as clear or just wrong on some things.

I did miss it because..... I didn't actually do a search

Thanks for posting the link. I think I'd rather do the timing belt again. It's just a bumper cover, it should be a lot easier than this.

Now I can see how people who aren't handy and out of warranty, freak out and just dump their cars. I consider myself a pretty advanced shadetree guy but nothing has been easy moving from the D2 to the D3 platform. I can tell that repitition doesn't necessarily get you there either.

Well, I'm going to have to do it. I have a slight gap between the lower bumper and body and I think one parking sensor is bad.

Default Hey buddy, I was about torefer you to that thread!!

You didn't do a search? You're a brave boy typing that on here!

I'm with you 100% about the platform jump. The D3 is a nightmare by comparison. Mine is coming back from the paint shop tonight after having rear bumper damage repaired (cover replaced actually)... I hope they figured out the mystery of the construction!!!
