Default engine break in question

bit of a "newb question" but how many miles does a new s5 cab have to be driven to be considered "broken in"..... and what are the restrictions of driving during this stage of breaking in the new engine:

for example, not revving the engine past a certain rpm and etc...

nowadays it is now really necessary to break-in an engine.
just drive nice and easy, as you normally would, for 1000 miles.
don't step on it just yet.
don't go over 4.000 rpm in the beginning and not over 5.000 rpm later on.

that's my 2 cents

others might say: you don't have to break it in.
and thats's where I won't agree.
but that's just me
