Default Orange electronics - TPMS sensors

I had 5 installed today. I drove for about 15-20 mins and it recognized all of them so out of the box they seem great. Batteries are supposed to last 7 years so bookmark this post

BTW, you can order them directly from the company. They're about $30 each.

Bob

Default Whoa!

Thanks Bob! That eases my mind a little. I had my new rims built up without them, but I'll get them put in now! Do you have a product link please? I think there's one in a thread on here, but could you help me with the exact part pls?

the only weird thing I've noticed are the identical pressures indicated between tires, although the OEM sensors did the same in the week I've owned the car.

Right now, my two front tires are 33.3 and I believe the rears are 35.9. How could they be exactly the same? Not that I care about fractions of a pound but it almost seems like the synch up in pairs.

Your fronts are low. First pump one up and check if they are still same.

The car is not picking up the individual sensors - I suspect the ones you have are all shipped with the same ID.

Do you have a nitrogen fill instead of "air" ?

Mine are exactly the same after about a minute of driving.
Makes an OCD person like me smile big

EDIT: Did you tell MMI they were new ?
Can't remember exactly what it's called {replace wheels?}, but it learns the sensors after tire rotation, etc.

I keep mine at 36 in the fronts, and 40 in the rears

Default W12's heighten OCD; won't be trying these since CPO did cover...

On point, yes identical readings seem hard to believe. Check them on road and then see if they vary. If not, suspicious. If spare is reporting in, it shouldn't vary much of course from parked to running. The temp reading would be the other giveaway. Just park car in sun on one side and if they don't vary temp wise after car sits a while, something is wrong. Simple low tech diagnostic.

On the W12 for trivia (and maybe S8's?), the right front runs hotter than any other position, and in turn pressure reading pushes up a bit too. That would be the auxiliary cooler up in front of the wheel with the punched venting through the right side fender lining. Tire warmer. Tells me all is well w TPMS and that extra cooler. For anyone who wants perfect symmetry on his/her TPMS screen, don't buy a W12, or at least don't ever take it out of the garage.

Meanwhile, interesting as I continue to follow the possible aftermarket solution. I won't be going here though. W/ a week to go on my CPO, I left the TPMS trouble light on by not resetting sensors and went in for what I thought was my last warranty pass. On prior visit, they said light had to be on to validate. For the $50 old CPO deductible, first I got 4 new sensors installed; I only expected 3 max since one was replaced several years back but they did all 4. Actual VAG COM reading was two at 0 estimated months (which dropped suddenly from 8 or 9 just a month or two earlier when I scanned), one at 14 and one at around 50 IIRC. Then when spare didn't read after I picked car up, I got the 5th one replaced on my last day hoorah of CPO. Hoping the aftermarket viability will be sorted by 6 more years, though there are the winter wheels...

Do you drive three persons and packed trunk all the times? If not than rears should be lower than fronts.
