Default Replace or Convert...Air Suspension Pros & Cons

Need some feedback...Front end sagging won't consistenly remain @ proper level...Based on what i've read could be front bags, leveling sensor, pump or all of the above...Ready to replace necessary parts or should I just purchase Arnott conversion...Im torn between keeping it stock or reducing cost and future headaches...

Default A matter of taste

For me, the air suspension is what makes the allroad, well, an allroad. It's an expensive system and flawed in engineering, however, I choose to keep replacing bags. Gone through 4 OEM's and one Arnott Gen 1 to date.

Absolutely! When I bought mine the front bags were gone. I replaced all 4 with Arnott Gen II and Bilsteins. Guaranteed for life.

If you want a car with more conventional suspension, you should buy an A6 Avant with a 2.7T and a 6mt.

They didn't sell 2.7T Avant in North America. That's why I have the Allroad and not the underpowered Avant with the 2.8.

My 2 useless cents is that you keep it OE.

Think about the cost of replacing 1 or 2 bags versues tearing out all the air suspension stuff and going conventional. You might be surprised to see it's cheaper to replace a bad bag or 2 then to ditch the whole system.

I bought my Allroad for its looks and the 2.7T. My only regret is not getting a 6sp manual. With that said and I am contemplating going to a nice coiliver set-up. My system is still fine, but I could appreciate a more sport oriented ride. I have never taken my car off road and used the additional clearance maybe once or twice in some snow while in the mountains. Cost aside, it's a matter of personal preference.

I have the coilovers , bought the car that way and never felt jealous for not having the air suspension, I've got a cheaper setup but still sporty feel, and I don't even have the h kiss swaybars, I also sleep a little better knowing how much I'm saving riding on this suspension
