Default Suggested Service in KC, MO

On a 2003 3.0L A4, I apparently have some serious issues with the engine. There is a loud ticking in the engine. Took it to the dealer, cylinder/camshaft issue. Cylinder 1 is not getting oil pressure. They want $7,000 to repair. Anyone have service suggestions?

Get another opinion from a VAG specialty independent shop.

Thanks, there is one other Audi shop that I know of. Talked to them and will probably take it down there to have them look at it. Apparently there are a few specialty tools needed to work on these and most shops don't have them. I'm sure it is a fairly accurate overall diagnosis, but way over priced. I am/was hoping for other suggestions for places to take it. It has been very reliable and the few smaller repairs I've been able to do.

There are regional discussion forums. Ask on the Midwest forum, someone will recommend, I'm sure.

By the way, post back once you go becuase I am curious what the problem is. The description the dealer gave you is really really vague.
