Default I hear you Edd...

But I haven't been a cop for 20 years because I don't like risks.. I'll have you know that my $1500 MY2000 165kmiles Discovery is an absolute sweetheart. Apart from the head gaskets. And the radiator. And the oil pump. And the central locking. And the front bumper. And the sun roofs. And the rear step. And the fog lights. And the heated front window. But apart from that, an absolute peach!!

You want a 'what was that noise.' car? Buy an '04 A8 or a Disco!

I have an '07 A8 which has just tripped 130k miles.

Its been absolutely bullet proof. A few very minor things, but nothing else except standard maintenance. Car drives beautifully. Even my mechanic told me I have a good one and wants to buy it when I want to change.

I've got to agree with the others. Even little things are very expensive on this car so unless you really have the the disposable income to maintain it, you're 50,000$ away from a 30,000$ car.

You cannot own this car unless you maintain it meticulously, I promise you that it will sound off beeps constantly if you let anything build.

Only current issue I have is the sunroof motor needs replacing... $1200 for a motor... thats fine. Dont really care about it anyway.
