US spec OEM headlights...

I'm sorry if this has been covered on this or another forum, but I have searched quite a bit and have not found a definitive answer. (If you know of a post, throw it up)

So, I have non-hid headlights (US car) and my question is, what is the process like to replace the entire assembly with a complete OEM US spec HID headlight assembly? That is, not the removal process, but are they able to be directly pugged in and function properly (minus auto-leveling) with no error codes? Should the leveling motors be disconnected? My car is a 2004, and the complete OEM HID headlights (headlights, bulbs, ballasts, ect...) are also from a 2004.

If anyone has some experience or knowledge with this process, I would appreciated any information.

I thought I would post an update for those who may be interested:

The OEM HID headlight assemblies work fine in halogen spec cars, just plug them in and your good to go. (but obviously the auto-leveling feature will not function, so I just disconnected the motors and leveled them manually)

There is a harness you can buy to make the auto-leveling work. It costs about 300$
