Default Intermittent Missing / Idle Issues

I have a 2005 A4 Quattro 3.0 that has been acting up lately. I've owned VW/Audi cars for awhile so I'm used to loosing coils on a regular basis.
I started my car on Sunday and noticed it idling a bit rough, so I waited for the CEL to come on but it never did and then it smoothed out. I immediately went and picked up a coil for what I assumed was an impending failure. Drove the car all day Sunday and noticed it just barely missing, normally at low RPM or with minimal throttle input.
So last night, since I don't have any codes, I swapped each cylinder with the new coil I purchased and found one that I think is bad because when I put it back in the car ran terribly. Is it crazy to think that I lost two coils at the same time? Or am I overlooking the obvious? Haven't checked plugs yet. Air filter is 3000 miles old; replaced with oil change. Can you get coils tested somewhere? Where should I go from here?

So I admit it. This was a stupid post. I changed the spark plugs and it's running fine now. Should have just followed all the other threads that suggested it and shut up.

Admittance is usually the first step.
