A4 Pretige S-line vs. S4 Premium Plus

Hi all
Just placed a order for a 2013 A4 but I'm still not totally sold on the model I want... Since I still have some weeks before they start delivering to the US I need some help to keep my current order or change it to a S4

I appreciate some comments here

2 different machines my friend. It depends if HP is worth the extra money for you since there is a decent increase in price between the 2. I have had an A4 and my S4 is a much more powerful and fun car to drive. It is going to come down to personal preference for you as an individual.

The difference is only $2500. It's a matter of whether you want to get more Hp (+ possibly sport diff) or more gadgets/options. Of course, the mpg difference will also add up over the long run.

If you can live with a P+ S4, could you live with a Sport P+ A4? The difference is then close to $9K!

Here its a 12k difference for Prestige models in both 47k compared to 59k.

Price is not out yet but they are placing the orders. According to the dealer, the difference will not be more than 500.00
2012 models are fully loaded (i.e. you can buy a P+ with s-line package - something that is/was available just for the prestige models). Maybe after the 2013 is out, the 2012 price will drop.

Not only the HP but there is a V6 under the hood for the S4... this is what is making me thinking about it.

I wrote down all scenarios and here are the estimate prices:
P+ = 43,000
Prestige = 46,000
S4 P+ = 52,000
Prices includes a 6% discount that my company has with Audi.

Have you taken an S4 out for a test drive? If not, you should since the money is not much of a difference for you. I see you're driving a Jetta now. I upgraded from a 2007 Passat 3.6 4Motion which I liked a lot, but I LOVE the 2010 S4. So much more power and more fun to drive. Also, I wanted to stay with AWD for winters (daily driver). As others have said, though, you pay a little extra for gas. I can't comment on the A4 interior compared with S4 as I don't know all the A4 options. Good luck with your decision. You'll get a great car either way.

$500 or $5000? just looking at US base price for 2012 it's $42k for A4 prestige and $48.7k for S4 P+

if it's only $500, that is a no brainer for me.

I really like VWs too... I had a Polo back in Brazil, this Jetta and I was also looking for the V6 CC but VW is not an Audi

I did not drive the S4 yet, but here is another question: manual or auto??
I love manual as I think you have more control of the car but it sucks when you are stuck in traffic as I do every morning on my commit to work...

I live in central Texas so I don't have winter problems but I'll get the AWD anyway..
