Finally as some may know, Audi is upgrading the 2.0T engine on the Q5, with slightly more power (225 vs the current 211 hp) and reportedly improved fuel efficiency. Again, I'm wondering if anyone has any info on this.

Thanks.
The BMW boys talk about balance all the time, how Audi does not handle well because its not 50/50 balance like a BMW, Audi is a FWD based platform. Well, this unbalance nose heavy C7 A6 3.0T out handle the 5 series in most of the compare tests. I don’t think the lighter 2.0T will improve handling all that much if at all. On the other hand, Quattro will improve the handling around the bents more than the lighter 2.0T will. As far as the increase HP in the 2.0T, I don’t think you will notice much difference from the slight HP increase. What you will notice is the quicker 0-60 MPH time form the 8 speed transmission. In my opinion, the biggest improvement to the 2013 2.0T A6 is Audi getting rid of the CVT and replace it with the fantastic and quick shifting 8 speed ZF transmission.

The order sheet lists the 2013 2.0 as having the 8 speed transmission with quattro as an option - but it also states that it isn't available for ordering. Does anyone know what this means?

Agreed

Thank you Robert for your pricing update. It looks like there is a $6K difference in the cost between a 2.0T and a 3.0T for the same equipment level.

I get the desire for an engine that gets better mileage, but a car that big with a boat anchor to power it seems counter intuitive. Now if the 4 banger had more power than a Sonata (270 or whatever), I'd be intrigued (but then the 3.0 would have to be more powerful what a great idea), but 225 HP seems poorly thought out to me.

For now the 3.0 seems to be the only way to go. I'd consider a diesel with 400 lb ft of torque and about 300 hp.

Default 2013 A6 2.0T Quattro Performance

The Audi Canada website shows the 0-100 kph time as being 6.9 seconds while the 3.0T is 5.5 seconds. I don't find 6.9 seconds that bad considering the A4 does it in 6.7 seconds. I would have been satisfed with the performance of an A4 (like thousands of others) but I wanted a larger car so the A6 2.0T works for me and knocks $7000 off the price.

I am now in the same boat trying to choose between a 2.0T Quattro and a similarly equipped 3.0T Quattro. If you ended up with a 2.0T Quattro are you satisfied? If not, why? Thanks for your assistance.

Sorry, I didn't get around to ordering one (a 2.0T Quattro) until February and it won't be delivered until May so I can't help you at this point.

As I said in another post,in Canada we can get the same options on the 2.0T as the 3.0T except for HUB, night vision and ACC on the 2.0T and I didn't really need those. It basically came down to an extra $7000 for a larger engine which I didn't really need.

Thanks and good luck to you. I am negotiating on a CPO service loaner. I've decided that hte 2.0T is fine for me as this will be a daily commuter and I'll likely trade it in a year or so when I retire.
