A sales guy at my dealer told me that the 2.0 will be coming with a Quattro option as well

If you doing aggressive cornering or for matching slippery road conditions the Quattro option is the way to go. Due to weight distribution of FWD tends to be nose heavy, even if vehicle is lighter it will tend to understeer when negotiating corners .It is characteristic of FWD vehicles in general , now if you get Quattro it can shift power and adjust it to wheels for best handling. A6 quattro is legend on skid pad and slalom (track performance). Now if agreed that quattro is better for handling then next is it 3.0T or 2.0T?
I have 3.0T, in most driving conditions you will find 2.0T is adequate but if you want to leave cars behind from traffic light 3.0T will get you smiling everytime. I'm not sure cost difference between the 2 as in Canada we only get Quattro 3.0T (snow + freezing rain) so I would test drive both and get a feel when you push each one how it reacts. Finally check document below page 16: http://152.66.93.29/audi/download/au...troduction.pdf it has power curve and some specs on 2.0T also other pages discuss technical info on both 2.0T, 3.0T.

Having said that, other than that, I have no complaints. I couldn't justify quattro for the 2-3 days of snow in NJ. And anyhow, i am steadily getting ~ 31 - 32 mpg just so as long as I don't push it... even then the car easily gets to 80 mph and curises before you even know it... If I push it hard, I come away with ~ 28mpg. Oh and one more thing, the amount of money I saved over a 3.0t Quattro (~6k)... I can't think of another car on the market than the 2.0t A6 Prem Plus, Cold Weather Pkg, Side Assist Pkg, that strikes a better balance of price, mpg and luxury! |

The 2013 Order Guide says the 2.0T will be available with 8-spd plus quattro or FWD with multitronic.

The 2.0T is a good engine. The 3.0T is a great engine. Given that you're wondering about these things, and found your way here to ask about them, I'd guess that you care about cars more than the average person. For that reason alone I'd suggest the 3.0T.
