Is this for outdoor use?
Will you wash the car every time prior to putting the cover on? I don't like outdoor-use covers- I see all sorts of damage from them. |

Yes, I will wash it before I put on the car cover. The car cover will really only be used when I'm out of town (from a week to over a month).
I'm basically getting it to protect from others dinging my car or intentionally scratching it (has already happened). If it will be in a business garage (exposed walls, but still covered and shaded), what is the best fabric because of the heat and humidity or does it matter at all if it won't be under direct sunlight? |

A quality 'breathable' microfiber "GoreTex" cover, over a washed car, is recommended. The Audi OEM cover is very good, as is California Car Cover.

I've used a custom fit Covercraft WeatherShield HD cover on a classic Merecedes in my driveway in Austin for 5 years now. It's held up great and protected the car really well from the sun and other contaminants. There hasn't been any damage to the finish. I do wash the car each time I uncover it before reapplying the cover.

get the custom fit light beige colored Covercraft Evolution 4 Car Cover at Autoanything.
The lighter color will reflect more sun/heat away than a grey color. Had lotsa of car covers, as long as you clean the car before putting it on you won't have any issues. |

I appreciate all the advice. I'm looking at the California Car Covers (but not partial to those) and I'm debating between a thicker (and cheaper) version that will help reduce dents from people parking next to the car when I'm away vs buying a smaller one that I can machine wash while just finding a place in the corner to hopefully reduce dents. I guess I just don't know how much of a pain to store they are once they are dirty or if a quick hose off will be fine. Would you pay extra for a machine-washable one?
The two I'm looking at are the Superweave vs the Stormweave. |

Any suggestions between the Covercraft Evolution 4 car cover and the California Car Covers Stormweave? They are both the same price.
