Default MPG

So my friend came down from Portland last week. As it turned we picked up our new 3.0 C7s on the same day a month ago. I got a prem+, he got a prestige. There are a few things that he got that I'm jealous of i.e. advanced key, 20 inch sport, and he wished his had come with the black headliner like mine. Both have nougat interior
While driving to and from the airport I was averaging over 32 mpg, which did seem high. He says he has never gotten close to that. Anyone else getting #s like that?

Solid 33mpg when I am on the highway for a long stretch. Heck, I'm getting 27mpg on my commutes here in the DC area (60% highway, 40% city). Road & Track stated 22/36mpg in their review.

If I do a smooth 65mph, with no aggression, I am getting about 33mpg... Crazy

However, my City MPGs suck... around 17

I think on my next service I need to have me engine looked at. Everything sounds great in the engine but with about 60% highway driving the best I've ever mustered up was 17.5 mpg on a full tank, which is even below the stated city driving efficiency. I never really drive aggressively nor at really high speeds. I do drive with the AC on quite a bit but to be well below 20 mpg is a bit disheartening.

I'm averaging around 20 MPG with about a 50/50 split between city and highwaw. I'm kind of surprised by the variation of MPG experience listed here. I have 800 miles on the car, the 20" sport package and I suppose I'm somewhat of a spirited driver - often having the vehicle in sport mode. Nevertheless I'm surprised some of your are in the high 20s / low 30s. Should I be concerned?

I've gotten an average of 25.5 MPG at an average speed of 35 mpg over the first 4,000 miles. Have not taken any long trip to see what the max might be. I will get close to 30 mpg in a 20 mile mostly highway trip. I'm happy with the average.

I'm assuming that these estimates are from the car's computer, it's been my experience that in car MPG estimates are not the most reliable. Has anyone taken the time to compare the car's numbers to thier own calculations? I would be interested to hear the results.
