Default how many mpg do you get? Faulty Sensors?

Ever since I had my Allroad I have never seen over 30mpg. Is this normal?

On my car the dash oil and water temp gauges don't work and therefore maybe the sensors are faulty, so I was wondering whether the faulty sensors would affect the ECU and therefore the MPG?

Lol what? 30mpg?

Most get 19ish-20 is driven very conservatively. Try stepping on it and expect much less.

I see 19.5 and I'm happy as a clam with it.
I'd get those gauges fixed immediately considering you kinda should have them in functioning order to at least make sure your car isn't over heating.
If you gauges don't work I imagine other things have been left unattended
Do you drive a 2.5, 2.7, or 4.2?
You should never see 30mpg with a gas allroad unless you're on the moon.

You can get 30 mpgs going 30 mph.

Mine averages 21.9 combined hwy and town driving...was almost up to 23 mpg right after I did a top end clean....but it's back down now a few months later. My wife drives it mostly....she shifts at about 2500 rpms too. That's prolly why the car has lasted so long (182+K miles)

I wonder what the euro-diesel allroads average? Anyone here have one?

Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong! I've been making a point to shift @ 3k rpm in order to save gas, and so far it hasn't done much better than when I had fun and ran it up to 4k.

This morning I shifted @ 2,500 like you, and MAN that seems like a short-shift, but I'll bet that's about the shift point in a tip tranny under easy acceleration; the engine seems to have enough torque to handle it.
