Identify this part! (please)

So I noticed that a piece is missing from my 2003 A4 3.0L .. I'm such an Audi noob (purchased a month ago -- already put in $1200 *sniff* ), could someone let me know what part it is so I can order it (if possible) and either get it reinstalled or man-up and try to reinstall it myself?

What happens when the roof is up? Is it still there? I don't have a. Convertible, but isn't that just the space for the arm or hinge for the roof to retract?

That area is covered when the top is up -- It may be a harmless piece but aesthetically looks awkward missing...

Have a look at these, hopefully it helps. I think the part you're missing is labeled as 32 in the diagram below.

I have the same thing on mine. It's probably still there, but there is a spring that brings it back into place. The spring is missing on mine.
