Default Hi to allroaders.

Couldn't see where you post this but as I'm buying an all road here it is.

Going to look at two allroads in the next few days. Both say the suspension was recently sorted at a cost of €4000 and that they are perfect in every way. One is a 01 with 120,000 miles on the clock and the other is a 04 with 150,000 miles on the clock.

The 04 in the pics looks that bit cleaner but pics can lie. Kinda have my heart set on that one though as it's cheaper then the 01 due to having more milage.

I've read a few threads on here ref the air suspension fauls and they have but a few fears to bed. Although there are problems they can be sorted for less then €4000. which was a worry but I'm handy with tools and have no problem attacking issues myself so I'm looking forward to getting one.

Get the 2004 model. Although its got more miles, it may hold up better over the long run being that it's newer and more of the allroad specific issue would have been resolved by 2004. All things being equal, higher miles is not such a big issue, lack of maintenance is. Good luck.

I'd go for the 2004.
I believe an updated TC wasn't introduced until 2005, but at least you have less to worry about.
Go 2004 IMO.

I believe the TC seal was upgraded mid year 2004 (there is a vin split) for US market. Not sure about other markets.

Thanks lads I hope to get a look at the 04 this weekend. It's the other side of the country though so I have to see if I can work something out. Thanks for the welcome.

Another car just entered the mix. It' s a black 2002 Allroad with 80000 miles on it. Has an air leak front right and has a full service history. Going to view it tomorrow. If the Price is right and the leak is one of the o ring seals and not the air bag itself I may have my new car and it's only 5 minutes down the road.

This site has been a great help so far lads. Thank.
