Ask them to do the 35,000 mile service and pay for the other one yourself. Audi care is not all that and with only one service to go, not worth the money.
Unless the tires or brakes are unsafe, pay for them yourself. Asking them to include it will simply be added to your vehicle cost. No point in paying dealer markup on tires and interest on the loan. They don't care about the last day of the month for used cars. Factory incentives on new units drives sales prices lower at the end of certain periods, but they make no factory money for recording a sale of a used car. See if your local credit union has a broker program that allows you a better price on a used car. If you are not skilled at whittling down the pro salesmen, you will pay more. Do your homework and know what a similar car has sold for, and be prepared to travel to buy your car. Don't be afraid to let the car go if they won't meet your price. There are more. If you know what you want, don't talk to a salesman at all, go to the sales manager and make your offer. He deceides if the deal is OK anyhow, so avoid the Kabuki Theater with a salesman of you don't need him. I see cars with quattro selling in the 25K to 27K range for Premium (base) models, and 800 to 1K more for Premium plus. (HID lamps and other toys)Grinding hard on an autotrader listed certified car will get you about 1K off, but you need to be a polite and patient talker. I also see cars selling for 35K, which is more than original sticker! Don't be the sucker driving out in that car. Get a new one! Last edited by Moviela; 04-29-2012 at 12:38 PM. |

If the car is certified, then the tires and brakes have to be in "like new" condition to pass certification. If the car is listed in the mid 20's, which is average, offer 2K less than asking price. If you are a member of AAA, check their rates in your area - usually the lowest of any place. You will usually pay more if you finance through the dealer.
Note that some Audi dealers are very thorough when doing the certification process and others don't really do anything. I bought an '08 that ended up having serious problems so I got rid of it fast. My '09 A4, which had 36K on it when I bought it, is a true gem of a car. Good luck! |
