cruise control question

my cruise control is not working and I found that on the throttle body there is a rod that goes into a vacuum bladder. This rod has a white plastic bushing to attaches to the clip on the vacuum bladder.
This white plastic bushing was broken not allowing the rod to attach. I have purchased a new bushing but because it is a hard plastic, I do not understand how to get this on the clip. If anyone has had to fix this issue, I would appreciate some help.
I dont want to remove the cruise control vacuum bladder but will if needed.

This is right by the throttle body.
I am holding the white plastic bushing next to the metal clip it fits into. Diameter of the white does not appear to fit unless the metal legs are spread apart, which appears to be next to impossible given their shape.

Sorry nobody got back to you. At first I didn't even see what you were talking about. I had to go out to my 93 UrS4 and check to see how things went together. (See photo and diagrams below). Your photo shows that despite your misgivings, the white plastic bushing has a groove it it (or it should) and that if you place the bushing with the grove between the two bracket legs, all you have to do is to push down on the bushing and it will sqeeze between the bracket legs and into the more open circular area(maybe spray things with WD40 or the like to make them slippery).

Had to remove some of the throttle body accessories to get to the rod. Placed two screwdrivers in the slot and twisted, which opened up the slot for the bushing to fit into. Still had to use pliers to get it in the hole. We will see tomorrow morning if the cruise works, that is if traffic will allow me to go over forty.
