Default Finally used my warranty

I finally got to use my extended warranty. I had the heat out of the outer vents and cool air from the center ones, rr window wouldn't roll up from drivers door switch and a coolant leak at the t-stat housing. All covered, no deductable!! I am going to take the valve apart and see if I can clean it just for fun and try to sell it for a couple of bucks if it works out. Bought the car with 54,000 miles and now have 97,000 with this being the first "problem". Not too bad. I did have to fix the lr tail lamp for the mil light setting but that was a 30 min fix that has remained fixed since September 2009.

Bob - I too have an extended warranty, but with $150 deductible. I bought the car with 85,000 and it now has 92,000. I drives wonderfully. However, the extended warranty policy covered engine replacement, new ABS module, and new steering column. The risk of buying used is not knowing how the previous owner(s) treated the car. In this case, not well. So, I'm thankful for the extended warranty.

In spite of this work, I really enjoy the car. It's my first Audi. I've owned six Saab's before this Audi. Far and away the best car I've owned.

I have had my column replaced twice, once at 48k and again at 98k. Both times the motorized component of the column stopped working (either the tilt or the telescoping)

I guess I have been lucky looking at all the different problems some have(although a small sampling) of all 06 A6's. Doesn't hurt to have my own garage to work on it and a good relationship with my Audi tech for questions. Will still buy another when this one has its day. Hopefully a S6. Although I don't know about that the way my wife likes to blast around in sport mode!! I guess as long as she doesn't complian about how I drive my cars, I won't complain how she drives her car.

My car would not start. The MMI would come on. But, nothing happened when I turned the ignition. The car was towed to a reputable dealership. The codes related to start/auth, which is resolved by replacing the steering column. That was at 87,000 miles.

Out of curiosity what was the price if the repairs and what is the cost of insurance? Thanks
