Back in the Fold---Questions on Motion and IPhone

Helped a friend buy an '01 Roadster. Thanks to my return to the forum we demanded the timing belt / water pump etc. be replaced as a condition of sale...

I've searched and searched and cant find definitive answers to the below questions---I'm assuming its because Mk1 is older so there's been a huge amount of input that inevitably starts conflicting.

01 Roadster
Bose Concert w/ NAV

1. Motion Detector: I'm gathering the only way to permanently disable is to cover the sensors (tin foil?) Can anyone confirm this and if so--where are the sensors.

2. Looking for an iPhone integration solution, and also to add SAT Radio. It seems like the Nav Feature is a roadblock to the DICE system. Can this be confirmed, and if so---any other suggestions?

Works great. You do lose the external six disc CD player however.
