Not sure of typical price relationship between UK and US due to tariffs or other adjustments, but a pure translation at $1.61/GBP is $125,500. With just a few options available added the S8 will be priced about a few thousand less than the Panamera GTS with popular options. Different cars to be sure, especially from a dynamic, tech and comfort perspective. The A8 with the 4.0 tt presents an attractive alternative at around $20-25k less than the S8. Of course, the depreciation on a Porsche Pan GTS relative to the S8 is likely to be less for those who might want to trade in a few years or so, but won't likely be a big factor in one's choice between the two.

the rs5 is 58,750 there. if it was 1.61....that would be 94,500 for the rs5. I know the RS5 in canada is 77000 base. so perhaps the 1.61 can be lowered a bit.

I have 2011 A8.....want to trade for 2013 A8 4.0
Will there be a big difference in power ?

about 50 hp. Its typically the TQ increase in FI Applications though that typicaly will win some people over. Still not worth it IMO (unless you have money to burn) because you will get nailed in black book value for a 2011 trade. You can try to sell your 2011 yourslef but the lower priced 3.0 in conjunction with 2 other 2013 engine options (3 if you include the S8) will attract a very large group of people. I for one dont care about High HP in lux sedans so I am shooting for the 3.0 SC engine, which is significantly lesser priced than last years V8.

Still, If HP and performance is what you really want in a big sedan, then I would look at the S8, which is rated at 520 HP and also contains all kinds of other goodies. If you are going to give up a 2011 A8, you might as well really make it worthwhile. Only issue for some is the S8 typically does not come in a LWB since its geared as a high performance sedan
