New Owner, I have a code and a question..

So Im about to close the deal on a very nice 2000 A8, it has 107k, CHeck engine is on, pulled the code, 17800 Camshaft position sensor bank 2 (6163)open short. So this could be a couple of things, I guess. The car runs perfect it seams, so is it just the sensor? If so, Is it easy to change? I found the part online. Thnaks for the support, hopefully I can bring it home tonight, very excited.

The bank 2 CPS is on the rear end of the driver's side cylinder head...not too difficult to change...not much disassembly required. I'd take a good look at the wiring and plug to it before buying one...even pull it off to look at at...it's just a hall sender (Magnetic) like on an old pointless distributor, that reads off a slotted wheel bolted to the end of the intake cam...that wheel mounted on the outside of the head...valve cover stays on.
