Default why do uk mags hate audi handling?

Why do british mags(autocar, evo, car) hate the way audis handle? They don't like the handling of most audis like the a4, a6 and a8. However, most american mags(car and driver, motor trend, road and track) think audis are sporty.

Because compared to what we are used to - cars which turn-in well and have natural tendencies for neutral to slight oversteer, Audi's generally tend to be nose-heavy with a natural characteristic of understeer.

I suppose, by comparisson, most US cars are not in the same league as European cars for handling - everything is relative.

Haven't you heard? British car magazines are mostly trash. But they do like the handling of the current A4/S4/RS 4, current A6 and A7 and, eventually, the current S6, RS 6, S7 and RS 7, current A8/A8L, eventually, the current S8 and eventually, the upcoming A9/S9 based on the A8/A8L/S8.

And, for the record, Motor Trend is just as trashy as or more trashy than the British car magazines. MT is the only car magazine in the world that thinks the handling of the current A6 and A7 is bad and that the current BMW 5 Series second only to the new Lexus GS when all other car magazines in the world (including the dreaded British car magazines) have said the handling of the current A6 and A7 are second only to the new Lexus GS and that the current BMW 5 Series is bad.

this is just my opinion

have to practice some psychoanalysis

right or wrong maybe people feel their enthusiast side is always under attack from the mundane masses

Save the Manual Gear Box
Save the V8
RWD is superior
Electric Cars Suck *Prius does suck

maybe they feel like they have to defend their side whenever they can .. and maybe they feel like Audi just didnt respect/fear their front heaviness enough

and to agree with PP and also to generalize.. maybe US masses are used to floaty suspensions of Lincolns, Buicks and Cadillacs plus with there super loose steering so the purist may disagree but yes Audis are sporty.

and it seems like lately the newer BMWs are getting heavier and Audi executing a bit better with sportiness.

maybe we will see some more appreciation/respect for Audi

again...my .02

I have my reasons why I don't read anything printed by primedia or any of the others that print 12 mags out of one house. Seems to me they are more concerned with patting their sponsors on the back while hurling poo at any manufacturer who doesn't buy add space in the mag, I imagine the brit mags are no different. I understand business is business but the facts are why people pick up a mag in the first place. Why even bother printing something if its nothing but money driven lies?

I'll stick with Grassroots motorsports to get my print fix. You can count on those guys to tell it like it is, regardless of who may be throwing money in their face.
