Default Q5's, average discount?

I am trying to get a feel for the average discount for a Q5. According to my CA the 2.0T's are sold before hitting the dealer's lot. Therefore the selling price is MSRP. On the 3.2 discount is around $1500 for MSRP. This number is not taken into consideration factory incentives. I always negotiate from invoice but are these vehicles in high demand? I live in the New England area.

Just a quick look at competing dealer inventory the available stock seems to be with the 3.2 powertrain.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

NHman

If you want to get a 2.0T you're better off ordering. In that case you should be able to get $2K off the MSRP.

If you're buying the 3.2 you should aim for at least $2500 of the MSRP (either ordering or off the lot).

I got $1000 off MSRP on my 2.0T. I definitely wanted the Turbo.

I didn't order it, but found it online. I had been looking for weeks and it just popped up one day ... my perfect ride ... minus my mods of course

I called about it, and the sales mgr said he had just listed it on the website about an hour ago, and I was the first one to call. I asked what he would take for it, and he said $1000 off, that's it and if I wanted it I needed to put down a deposit right now. (I lived 5 hrs away from this dealer).

So I put $1000 down over the phone, had all the paperwork taken care of by fax and email, and it was ready for me to pick up when I went down to sign the papers and take delivery..

Silky smooth transition, and one of the best decisions I've ever made!

Try truecar.com for detailed pricing reports, including in your local area. I found it helpful when I bought my 3.2L, though I used the Supplier Discount so the deal was pretty straightforward. I don't think you can go wrong with a Q5 - either 2.0T or 3.2L. Mine has surpassed my expectations. Good luck!

If you are still planning on ordering your S4 as well then I would think they would work with you on both vehicles if oredered at the same time. When I got my Q5 there was not tons of wiggle room price wise but I got the 2.0

I just picked up my 2012 Q5 2.0T yesterday in upstate NY. Awesome ride! I got $1500 off for Audi Loyalty (I have an A5) and negotiated another $1300 off MSRP. I tried like hell to negotiate further, but they let me walk out for anything less than that.

They had a few on the lot but to get the configuration I wanted it had to be transported from a dealer 5 hours away. This supposedly cost them $500 along with transporting another car to that dealer for trade. That being said, it was worth it to pick up the car exactly the way I wanted it.

Let's see some pics of that ride! That isn't a color combo we see very often.

On the S4, I am still waffling between that and an M3 coupe. The practical side of me says "buy the S4". The emotional and less logical screams "M3".

We have put a deposit down on a blue/beige 3.2. I believe the discount was $2.6k plus another $1.5 for the loyalty. However my wife drives mostly in the city and I feel the 2.0T would be a better choice. This is vehicle that she will have for the next 7-8 years. Her current A4 2.0T gets 22 mpg average. Maintaining or improving fuel economy is a top priority (along with getting advanced key).

For the Q5 2.0T the dealer is stating all are being sold at MSRP. I did consult True Car but couldn't recall the average buy levels for the 2.0T and 3.2. We may cancel the existing MY12 and order a MY13 with the 2.0T.

Default 3.5% or $1,500

I got just under $1,500 off my Teak Brown 2.0T PP with Advance Key and Rear Side Airbags. Had to order it from the factory so I am hoping I will see it this year!
