Default a4 Misfire problem need help!

so I just bought a 2003 Audi A4 and is having a misfire problem the check engine comes off on frequently it will drive fine then come on and keep driving itll shut back off the original owner of the car said it had too do with the Ignition coil recall but the coils were just replaced on the 6th of last month. the old owner would put the old coils back on remove the repair sticker and get new ones but the light still comes on so i dont believe its that any ideas?

You should get the codes checked. If you dont have the tools to do it then go to pepboys or advanced auto and have them check your codes. Theyll do it for free. Then take it frome there. Another cause could be your inyectors

I would start with the coil packs as well. Since the dealer did it, take it back to them and explain the situation.

I had a similar problem. I bought the vag com. Then I replaced the #2 spark plug which was firing intermittently, but the coil was fine. I also replaced the crank sensor which was erratic and threw not only the cel, but also the epc light, apparently throwing the car into a default engine management mode. The idle raised a few hundred rpm when the epc light came on. The crank sensor fixed the problem now the car runs like a dream again.
