Default 2001 s4 ac blowing hot

My blower comes on high and the system tries to cool the car when temp is set below actual temp but it seems like the compressor is not kicking on, any thoughts on where to start? (other than the fuse panel which I have aleady checked) Also, I have been told to check my pressure switch or switches, any help on where to find them and if there is a high and low switch or just one for both would be helpful, Thanks

Start by checking the refrigerant level. If it's low the compresser won't start.

I was able to check the low side refridgerant level with a refill coolant bottle that had a gauge built into it and the level showed in the high end of the green or 'okay' range.
