Agreed. If you can manage the wait the MY2013 cars will be worth more come resale time.

BTW... Jealous on the Daytona Gray. I had that on order and was impacted by the delivery issues and defaulted to Phantom Black.

S7 - Soooo Sick... It's gonna kinda hurt my feelings the 1st time I see one blow by me lol. Don't really care about the back seat; my car's a two-seater anyway. But what's the deal w/ the lack of a corner camera on the Prestige model??? Feeling sorta slighted :/

On question 1: I'm willing to wait. I've waited this long (three months) and I don't want to regret it if I pull the trigger on the 2012.

On question 2: really the corner camera is the one thing I'd love to have. I tried it in the BMW 550 and it was super cool. Also the ability to get Daytona Gray would be nice...

Is it worth 3 months and another $1,200 (to get the LEDs now not included in the innovation package)? Don't know...

Also, is it worth wait 3 or 4 months simply to have a newer model year (better resale value) and potentially a less "buggy" car since the it usually takes a model year to work out the issues on a new model?

Appreciate the thoughts of the members.
You need to wait until 2013 pricing is out before you make the call to cancel the 2012 order. I'm sure MSRP on the new model will increase as well so you can tack on another $2000-$3000 on top of the LED option. All in all it comes down to what you are willing to pay for and if you will be happy with the car and the car deal. When you are dropping this kind of coin on a car you should get exactly what you want, but don't break the bank in the process.

I also waited for the 2013. I have heard that the side assist and other sensors can be less than accurate so although I am sticking with the side assist etc...I am not going to change my order from the 2012 options. I like the rear bucket seats. I think making it a 3 seater would ruin the look of the back seat area.

I discussed with the dealer. He said that I should expect invoice to be 1% to 1.5% more than 2012. That plus $1,300 additional for the LED headlights (no longer included in the Innovation package). So about a $2,500 increase for the lane departure, corner cameras, and the start/stop economy mode...
He told me I could order a 2013 now and we would work out a deal based on the terms I negotiated on the 2012 (knowing of course that pricing will fluctuate a bit until the pricing comes out).
I'm leaning on just taking the 2012 that should be here any week... don't know if the cost plus another 3-4 month wait is worth it for the functionality.

Lane departure no big deal.
Corner camera, nice feature
Third seat option for rear nice, even though I only had 5 people in my A8 once in 5 1/2 years.
Chuckster.....I had the same thoughts as you to almost the word.....well said. I don't remember when I had more than 2 people in the car (A7) since I got it. Maybe once my family of 4 wanted dad to drive, but other than that....my 6'3" son and I (also 6'3") didn't ever want to do this again LOL!

Seriously, good response to the issue at hand. I would try to negotiate the 2012 down (if possible) and stick to the order the guy has.

Don't you think the Innovation Package might cost less in 2013 than 2012, since it no longer includeds the LEDs?

I talked to another dealer and he thinks 2013 A7s will deliver at the end of July/early August.

My Dealer says September.

My Dealer said end of July/early August as well. AudiUSA told me "near the end of summer"

Were I to guess, I think they will keep the innovation package at the same price as 2012, or close thereabout. I think Audi would argue that the addition of the corner cameras and lane departure is equal (maybe greater?) than the value of the LEDs... I doubt it would be less than 2012. I've never known a car manufacturer to lower prices on a model year
