Thanks for the link. Lots of informative stuff there.
I've read hear that the A3 hatchback is not going to be sold in the US after the current model year. I've also read, elsewhere, that Audi is very proprietary with the TDI. So, how hard is it to find someone to work on the engine, other than Audi? If the new A3's don't offer the TDI it's likely the dealers won't have too much need to maintain diesel mechanics, and that would leave the TDI owners scrambling to find alternate service, or could they take it to a VW dealership? |

The 2013 A3 will apparently be identical to the 2012 A3 models. The new sedan will probably appear in the 2014 model year.
As for diesels, Audi also has the Q7 which can be equipped with a diesel. Dealer mechanics are cross-trained for all Audi engines so any future service should not be a problem. The new A3 sedan will probably be offered with the same engine line-up that the current models are.

Hey I am new to this forum but I'm looking to get an A3 also or lease one from Central Contracts or another car leasing company. What are they like on mpg and is it worth leasing or should I buy one second hand? Any advice would be helpful

I've had my A3 TDI since March 2010 and have put about 32,000 miles on it. In town, I see 30-35 mpg depending on how long the stoplights are. On the highway, I'll get 41-42 mpg at 75 mph.
