Default Strange oil leaks on top of engine

Please forgive me, as I don't know what these little torx bolts hold down, but there is some oil leaking out of two of them. You can see in the picture that one (on right) is dry, and the two left ones are cleaned up now but had oil slightly pooled around the torx bolts. What gives please? Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a 2007 A4 Quattro S-line (manual) by the way, if that makes any difference, with 55K miles

Coilpack failure?
Valve cover gasket?

Perhaps unrelated is the car died upon start-up yesterday after I had driven a bit and parked it. I started her, then it died. Did it again and died again. Third time I got her to fire up and gunned it to get when might be a some bad gas in my mind through the chamber. been fine ever since. No acceleration or idle issues. But I did notice the small leaks today.

I was thinking the same suspects but also the oil filler cap's gasket could be weeping some oil. But really not much oil leaking so I would wipe it off and look at it after every drive you do to try to get a better idea where its coming from :P

Re-torque those torx screws. Don't over tighten. You may have to re-do a few times over a few weeks then it will be good. The wetter ones will be the most loose each time.

Taking it in next week for some routine maintenance, and mentioned to the guy on the phone the issues. There are several recalls out there he says, and one may adress this. We will see, and I'll provide an update.

Might be that the PCV valve(or I think audi calls it a PRV valve) has failed? pretty common on this vintage car. Happened to me,and I had oil around the filler cap that dribbles down into those torx bolt holes and looks like real trouble, do a search on this and be sure to pay attention to hose updates as well. I did mine myself and it was easy. FWIW, shortly after the repair while in the dealer for routine maintance the service manager noticed the remnants of the oil in the holes and tried to convince me I needed a new head gasket!!!! mentioned to him the recent repair on the PRV valve and he backed right off.

You guys may be onto something here. Last oil change (at Audi), they didn't tighten down my oil cap. Nice. This may be just left over dribble that I only now noticed. I've cleaned it up and haven't noticed any more. although it's odd it bypassed the first spot, and actually made it to the third. How did it get past the coil pack? Who knows. But will mention the PCV valve for sure this Thursday when it goes to the shop. Thanks.
