Have had a similar sound recently in the same area - could be my manual shades as well.
Not sure what it causing it, possibly temperature/weather change ? Mine are up all the time.

I've got electric shades that are up 99% of the time and also I've sometimes heard the sound. I've heard it going over a speed bump or potholes, which are quite common here, but only sometimes. This happens also on both sides at the same time, but I've learned to live with it since it doesn't happen too often.
This also happens all year long and doesn't seem to be linked to weather changes (since weather here goes from +30C to -30C and during the day there aren't any sudden changes in temperature). I thought that this might be some system check to see if everything is ok with the curtains but there isn't any real reason why this kind of stuff would need to be checked by the car and if it also happens with manual blinds, then it should just be some mechanical part that makes the sound. |

I keep hearing the annoying noise. Sometimes it's worse than others. I believe now that it is the door panels(at the top where it meets close to the woodgrain) than is making the loud creak/pop on both passenger and driver side. Anyone have issues with the door panels making noise? Also there seems to be a similar noise coming from the rear roof liner. The car totally drives great, but this is annoying. Help??!!

This issue is still ongoing for me as well as others it seems. No fix has been found. Another possible issuse is the creak/pop noise coming from the rear doors.

Prise out the burr walnut, ebony maple or whatever trims via the hinge end and pop it out from that end, it hooks in at the other end. Use a large plastic spudger (official bodyshop tool) or a screwdriver with a protective cloth or tape.
Behind there are some 8mm hex-head screws that loosen up with time. Do all four doors and apply liquid thread-lock if you don't want to do it again. |
