newbie MMI question

if i get a car without the navigation upgrade ($2000), does that change the ipod interface experience? i.e. does the navigation upgrade come with a much improved ipod interface UI or is it the same whether i get navigation or not?

just wondering because i'm looking at getting a new a5 or s4, and honestly i almost NEVER use the navigation in my car. i usually look it up on my phone by the time i'm out the door, or 90% of the time i know where i'm going anyways. thinking of avoiding it and saving myself 2k.

The iPod interface comes standard with the Audi Concert Audio system at Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels, whether you get Navigation or not. You do get a higher resolution MMI screen as needed by the Nav however.

This connective technology offers intelligent integration with the iPod® and iPhone®. Any iPod Generation 4 and higher may be connected through the glove box, providing full iPod controls on the MMI® screen. This feature allows connection of a USB flash drive or a conventional auxiliary audio input as well."
